Interested In Childcare?

Interested in placing your child into childcare but not sure where to start? We understand! Making the decision to place your precious little one in the care of someone else can be a daunting task. We are here to help you in this transition and support you through the journey. We aim to make the process as easy and stress free, both for you and your child.

So… Where Do You Start??

We recommend firstly contacting Centrelink to register your child for Child Care Subsidy and find out if you are entitled to any benefits (FAQ “What sort of government assistance is available to me?”) Once this process has been finalised, Centrelink will provide you with a percentage and eligible hours that you may receive. These details will be needed to be able to provide you with an approximate quote for your childcare fees. The online Child Care Subsidy Calculator can assist you in estimating your entitlement www.childcaresubsidycalculator.com.au. Please note, this calculator is only an estimation tool, and that Centrelink will still need to be contacted to submit your actual claim for CCS.

Once you have registered for Child Care Subsidy, contact your local Free Range Kids Centre to book a time for a tour. We would love to show you our beautiful centre and introduce our staff. Take the time to see why our centres are so sought after in the community. The director will take some contact details from you, and if a suitable position is available for your child, she will give you an enrolment pack. If a position is not currently available, your details will be placed on our waiting list and we will contact you as soon as a place becomes available for your child.

Complete the enrolment pack and return it to the centre. The director will enter your details into the Childcare software and link your child’s enrolment with Centrelink. You will then need to confirm this enrolment with Centrelink via your MyGov app or with Centrelink in person.

When all of this is completed, your child can start. Between your initial tour, and your start date, we encourage all families to utilise orientation visit/s. These “stay and play” times are a great way for you and your child to spend together at the centre getting to know the Educators, environment and starting to make some friends. The more comfortable your child feels in their new surroundings prior to starting, the easier separation will be when the time comes for this to occur
